Faulk potentially part of an ownership group? Does Checketts really have the money?
With Rush Limbaugh out of the potential group of buyers for the St. Louis Rams, Dave Checketts is scrambling to replace Rush and the money he brought to the group assembled by Checketts.
Now the rumor mill says former Rams RB Marshall Faulk could be in the mix.
To me, it's starting to look like Checketts doesn't have the money to be a serious bidder on the Rams. Remember, his group is not the only potential buyer to have made an offer. Now it looks like he's scrambling to get other backers.
On October 22, the bidding process advances to the next phase when potential buyers have to be verified as to whether or not they have the money.

Rush Blush
Lawsuit time—Just across the wires! All the hateful statements supposetly made by Rush turns out to be by a Dude that runs an org called “Flush Rush” and cannot come up with even ONE verification of the statements, but the media just picked it up and ran with it. There’ll be a lot of answering to do in court. I couldn’t care less about Rush except to give him a fair shake. Marshall? who cares. If he can do it more power to him.

Who Cares?
Really. This is a site about the Rams. Whatever crap Rush has to deal with, let him deal with. He has his own opinions, as do we.
Slander and misinformation go on all the time. Ever heard of tabloids? Seriously guys, let’s just drop it. It’s not worth getting worked up about someone you’ll never know, probably never meet, and probably doesn’t even care what you think anyway.
I’m all for Marshall joining the group, but how much can he contribute financially?
I believe in 2010

+1
as for the faulk involvement, i can’t see him having a real amount of money in order to be a big time partner. he’s probably just a filler guy that makes the group look more appealing.

I think it's been well known that Checketts needed help in buying the team.
That’s why he was linked to Jack Taylor, then Rush Limbaugh, and now Marshall Faulk (although, I’d rather have Taylor’s money behind the team…). Checketts actually doesn’t have that much money (in regards to sports team owners) but he specializes in (and runs a company that does this) forming ownership groups and such so this whole thing is exactly how he does business.
I’m surprised one of the Busch’s isn’t involved in this somehow.
Nevertheless, I hope it is Checketts who gets to buy the team. He already has a great track record in other cities as well as St. Louis and he has a devotion to keeping the team in town.

I didn't see it-
I didn’t even think about the Busch group, but what a perfect marriage. If they ain’t in the mix already, they should be.

Busch
I wonder about that too. They kind of owe the city of St. Louis something. Good way to reinvest that InBev money.

The current Busch family
is completely uninterested in sports. When Gussie died I knew they wouldn’t stay involved with the Cardinals for long. Don’t count on getting any money from them to help buy the Rams. It won’t happen.

Who cares about sports
being a partner in a sports ownership group really doens’t require being a sports fan. Sam Zell (who just sold the Cubs) could not care less about sports. But you might say, “which is why he sold the team that came as part of the Tribune package.” Not so fast. Sam Zell is a part owner of the Chicago White Sox too.
It’s all about the money and owning a professional sports team (one of the major sports…baseball, basketball, football) is a very smart investment if you can affod getting in on it.
And for one of the Busch’s to get on board would be the smartest thing they could do. First, you’re going to make money on your investment. Second, it’s a great PR move for a family that has ticked off a lot of people in St. Louis.

They already sold BUD
I think that one could conclude that they’d rather not have money tied up in a sports franchise for the profitability

I know
and they could really endear themselves into the community by supporting and helping keep the Rams in St. Louis.
But, I’m not sure what them having already sold A-B has to do with anything. Shit, they’ve got even more money now than they did when they owned it.

George Soros
Who knows how much validity this holds, but a “certain someone” is saying that he was replaced as the “money guy” in the ownership group by left wing bank-roller George Soros.
Well, I guess we can safely say that Dave Checketts doesn’t let politics get in the way of his relationships because you can’t go much more from one political polar extreme to the other.

Whats funny
Is Rush being denied because of his divisive comments, then making more divisive comments for 15 minutes at the beginning of his radio show blaming everyone but himself, and thereby proving the NFL right.
