Is Dave Checketts a serious bidder for the St. Louis Rams?

The decision by Dave Checketts to drop Rush Limbaugh from the group of investors he had assembled in an effort to buy the St. Louis Rams makes me wonder about Checketts' ability to buy the Rams in the first move.

Does he have the money or not? Was it that easy to replace whatever cash Rush brought to the table? And if the share Rush planned to buy was small, why risk bringing him on board in the first place? Did you not think Rush Limbaugh would attract any controversy? He could be a damn genius too.

What is my intuition telling me about Checketts?

I’d say he needs someone else to pad the wallets…but I think he’d be able to scrounge up enough income should he have to.

i think he can find someone

or a few someones to fill that role, but if he could already, he wouldn’t have gone the way of Rush in the first place.

I heard

The Malloof family is taking the Kings back to Mizzou and bringing the Rams back to California. Yep, thats what I heard. heh

Lived in LA during the Rams and Raiders days. Now based in NorCal, I am still a die hard Rams fan and Raiders season ticket holder.

Sugar Daddies Esq.

If one makes the effort, Rush’s liquid assets can be found. That will show that it’s not the minor cash that Rush has in hand, but his borrowing power. Consider his base, and you can see what I mean, and the enormous funds he can post. If Checkouts would have been smart, Rush could have had his pie and ate it too. Guys who post here are a pretty smart bunch, so you know how it could have been done. “He who owns the Gold———”

I think all along Checketts wanted Jack Taylor

but once he lost like a billion dollars this year, he backed out. Although he’s still worth like almost 9 Billion (with a “B”) so I’m not exactly sure what the problem is.

Sports franchises are almost “loss” proof. You almost always make you’re money back ten-fold with them.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Dave Checketts...

Dave Checketts is a smart man. He has built a successful sports team, he even turned a simple hockey team into one of the NHL’s most promising young clubs. Now this very smart man is trying to build on his already impressive resume, attempting to put together a group to buy the Rams and keep them in St. Louis. Dave Checketts is linked to an interest to buy the St. Louis Rams from Chip Rosenbloom, along with Rush Limbaugh – who will presumably use the money he’s saved from buying generic painkillers instead brand name. (Ouch!) It makes sense – the Rams are off to an awful start, having been utterly humiliated by the Seahawks – who, let’s face it, aren’t exactly up to snuff as of late. An NFL franchise is a big buy – it will take more than payday loans to buy the rams.
