Barron Performance-game 5, Vikings
Alex Barron, by all accounts, seems to have had a good game against the Vikings. He kept the Vikings Jared Allen without a single sack or even a hit on our quarterback. Allen, the previous week, had 4.5 sacks. So Barrons performance is astounding.
But did anyone else notice that before the game Ritchie Incognito was jawing at Barrons competition, Mr Jared Allen? I've wondered if our resident psyco didn't tell Allen that his friend Alex Barron has his job on the line and that if Allen gets to showing off against Barron that maybe Allen would have an accident with his knees.
This is total supposition on my part. I can't read lips. But it makes more sense to me that Allen could have been intimidated into easing up, than that Barron actually bested this guy Jared Allen. I suppose Incognitos words with Allen could have been purely cordial. And maybe Allen eased up out of a basic sympathy for Alex Barron; thats something we commonly see in football. But ones common sense should tell you why Barron had a good game.
I figure though that Incognito is not going to be able to save Barrons career with similar appeals to all of Barrons future opponents. Lets see how he does next week

Having watched the game, I can say Allen didn’t ease up.

I can see where you're coming from
but I don’t see any way a competitor would ease up.
That’s how upsets happen.
I believe in 2010

OL' Jaws Cogs-
Cogs told Allen that if he used a certain password to Barron, that Barron would let him Allen shine. The password sounds simple enough, but has an in-house- slap-you down- BURN meaning for Barron. Barron played with clenched teeth the whole game! That’s cute Cogs, using the ploys that they used to use on you to make you go bezerk with rage. Smooth move Heh-Heh

Baron probably had
one of the best games of his career. Let’s hope it was the result of his little talk with Spags and that we will see more of the same in future weeks.

Please take off your tin foil hat.
Lived in LA during the Rams and Raiders days. Now based in NorCal, I am still a die hard Rams fan and Raiders season ticket holder.

For what ever reason,
I’ve been reading these comments but hadn’t taken the time to read the actual FanPost until right now.
I wish I hadn’t………..
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

My guess is...
…that Barron turns it up a notch for a game or two. But, I don’t think he can be cured of a lackluster career of not really caring about playing good football. He’s lucky that 95% of the Ram players are as bad as he is. Barron would’ve already been axed by about 30 of the 32 NFL teams. I don’t know where he thinks he’s gonna play next year…?

Some Observations:
Ok, I won’t say that Barron had a disaster of a game. But I will say this:
1) At the start of the second play the DL player gave Barron a chuck in the chest and knocked Barron on his ass, and immediatly sacked Bulger. Barrons linemates seemed puzzeled how a three hundred pound NFL lineman can go down with such little encouragement.. I honestly believe I could have taken the shot better than Barron did.
2) Bulger was regularly rolling away from the left side of his line. I’m sure Bulger sensed that was the more porous side. Although in the NFL that is the side where you typically place your better pass blocker.
3) Tonight I watched the Chicago game an spent a lot of time looking at how pace handeled that same position. By comparison, Barron looked more like a high school kid. He has the size to play the position. But, that’s about all.
