Rams have not interviewed Winston Moss a second time
The Rams coaching search continues. A few items of note...
- Reports that Green Bay LBs coach Winston Moss had a second interview with the Rams were wrong, according to Jim Thomas in his chat at Stltoday.com this week. In fact, Thomas alluded to the Rams having the sense that Moss wasn't quite ready for the jump to head coach. Watch for Moss to be a defensive coordinator candidate here or elsewhere.
- Haslett's name keeps getting tossed out there as a candidate for Green Bay's defensive coordinator position, but the Packers have yet to seek permission to talk to him. Chances don't seem great for that to happen, from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "[Haslett] hired McCarthy as an assistant in 2000 and runs the kind of aggressive defense McCarthy likes. But the two agreed to part ways in 2005 and there is reason to believe they won't work together again." I can see the headlines now: "Team Katrina Heads North"
- Are the Bears interested in Rams WR Torry Holt?
More to come.

Do other teams need permission to talk to Haslett?
He’s not under contract for next season, right? Or am I completely missing something? Wasn’t his contract voided by the League? Plus, he didn’t even win the 6 games that would have kicked in the next year.
Right?
The boys are all here for ya...we'll back you up...we'll be there...cause, Billy, we don't stink right now. We're the best team in baseball right now...right this minute...because of you. You're the reason. We're not gonna screw that up, we're gonna be awesome for you right now. Just throw.
according to this story from last week’s Post, his contract does not expire until February 15. IIRC, it was the extension that was voided by the league.
But since many of us suspect you of being J.H, you would know all this, right? ;-)
I know
that Torry Holt didn’t have the best year, but I’m going to hate to see him go. Especially for a 5th round pick or something ridiculous like that. Isn’t he under contract for one more year?
yeah one more year
they’ll eat salary whether they trade him or release him…and he sure doesn’t seem like he wants to come back to STL next season
