Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Scott Linehan, the former St. Louis Rams coach who turned down the San Francisco 49ers' offer to become their offensive coordinator, has agreed to join the Lions in that position.

Yup. ESPN reporting that Linehan, who spurned the 49'ers with the claim that Linehan wasn't ready to return to coaching or that he wanted to spend time with his family, will be the OC for the Detroit Lions. Observation 1: Why is Detroit intent on hiring former Rams head coaches to be their OC's? It doesn't seem to be working. Observation 2: Why Detroit, Coach Linehan? Didn't want to go to a divisional rival? Just don't like the 49'ers? Or is it, as I expect, a chance to revive your career with an offense that has hit rock bottom and is thus assured more offensive success in the future that you can credit yourself with?

I guess

that would have to be it. I guess Detroit didn’t notice how bad our offense was while Linehan was here.

Despite how bad our offense was,

theirs is worse.

Jay Zygmunt, now that you have fired yourself, please have yourself hired by Seattle. Thanks.

I guess Detroit noticed how much better our offense was than theirs.

At least I’m not a Lions fan. Good god what a hire.

well, can’t really get much worse then their 08 season, so he went there, cause the only way to go is up…or 0-32

I really don't get it.

All things being equal (really crappy football team, really dysfunctional ownership, no quarterback prospects, etc.), who in their right f-ing mind would choose living in Detroit over living in San Francisco? After all, he declined the Niners job supposedly because of ‘lifestyle’ issues.

Sounds like he has mental problems, man. (yeah, mental problems, man!)

LOUD NOISES!

True, very retarded for him to turn down a Sunny SF, for a Cold, crappy football team that needs a lot of work

I've never been to San Francisco,

but I have been to Detroit and never considered going back there.

Also I have a feeling Detroit offered him a bit more money than San Francisco. That is the only way I can make any sense of this, at least from his perspective.

also

Perhaps Detroit’s coaches get a few days off every week to spend with family. It would explain a lot.
