Embarrasment
I must admit that I was one of the few Rams fans at Lincoln Financial Field this afternoon to witness the worst football game I've ever seen the Rams play. Most fans that watched the game on TV were lucky because you could change the damn channel. I had to sit and watch as the Rams disgraced themselves and became a whipping boy for the Eagles. I'm a little bitter in case you didn't notice.
This team is an absolute joke. I didn't have high expectations coming into the season but I thought the Rams would be a competitve team and have a shot at winning the NFC West and maybe 8 games. 7.5 point dogs to the Eagles and we lost by 35. The Eagles could have won by 50 if they kept their starters in and shut us out but they gave us some mercy. Where do I start? How about the secondary: The Eagles started a rookie WR and Hank Baskett. Greg Lewis and Avant coming off the bench. Somehow with WR's you've never heard of the Rams got torched play after play. Can someone please turn around and see the ball after it's thrown? These dbacks just look like deer in headlights. We are going to get smoked by every team in the league if they want to throw the ball. The only guy getting any pressure on McNabb was Long. Our offense was in shambles and Bulger had zero time to throw the ball most of the day. I couldn't even tell you if Torry Holt was at the game. He was non-existent and don't even get me started on Drew Bennent. Hopefully Avery and Burton will get some experience in the upcoming weeks. McMichael was the only positive I saw on offense. Steven Jackson looked slow and like he missed training camp. Shocker! The bottom line is the Rams have a ton of work to do before any team in the league will respect them. How did it look on TV?

Agree about McMichael
I was impressed with him receiving the ball. That was the bright spot (outside of the kicking game, and I mean only the kicking part of the kicking game…the running and tackling part of it sucked).
I’m glad you brought up the D-backs not turning to the ball. This happened all damn day. How is it possible that these guys do this constantly and then bitch when they get flagged?
In the world I see--you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty carpool lane of some abandoned superhighway.
Philly really let the
Rams have that part of the field. what was the danger? those CBs and safeties owned every inch of dirt beyond that space.
Thanks for representing the Rams faithful...
it is a tough job sometimes, but we gotta do it.
I tip my cap to you for being there in that snake pit. It must have been really ugly getting a lot of comments from people “nice team” “Rams suck” etc.
Heck, I got a lot of crap wearing my gear around Orange County yesterday. And, as usual, after a loss, I wear my gear to work the next day. Quite a few smirks here at the office, but par for the course. Been getting hell since birth.
Keep the faith.
Bad, bad, bad
Boy, I have to admit I questioned the wisdom of retaining coaches Linehan and Haslett, but yesterday sure did make it clear to me!! Wow, were they prepared!! I can see Linehan must have give the motivational speech of his life before the game, and that defense….man, Haslett must have been working overtime. Oh oh, didn’t mean to overlook how much better the offense and offensive line did with thier new coaches…. I think probably the most meaningful comment during the game was by an onfield announcer (I forget his name now….hmmm) but his observation was that the Rams players, sideline, huddle, et al looked dead. That’s the coaches job, to make sure the team is ready to play and Linehan has consistently fielded an unprepared team. Don’t even get me started on Bulger, I’ve defended him in the past, but his play yesterday clearly indicated he doesn’t want to play for the Rams any longer, he played scared, and no quarterback will ever lead his team to victory playing scared. I said it then, I say it now, the Rams made a mistake kicking Warner out of town and giving the job to Bulger. What a disappointment. I only wish I could file a lawsuit to get the satellite subscription fee back I have to pay to watch them, because they are certainly defrauding the NFL and all Ram fans by contending they are a professional football team.
If Warner were the quarterback
he’d probably be out of football. Our line and protection has gotten worse every year since he left. He was broken when he left and was able to get healthy by either not playing or by playing behind a decent line. Which makes me scared for the life of Trent Green. I really would hate to see him get permanently injured.
