How to fix the Rams- Ideas

Hi all. Matt Miler at Mocking the Draft suggested one method to fix the Rams moving forward. I offered a counter-suggestion. Both offer ideas on what the team's philosophy, who to hire as a new GM, head coach, and even suggestions on who to draft. Hope you find both interesting. Here is a snip from my suggestions:

The Rams are guaranteed 8 home games on indoor turf. Their nickname for years was "The Great Show on Turf." They also play one game in Arizona (hot, but fast track turf) and Seattle's Qwest Field (though outdoors in rainy Seattle) is also Field Turf. This means the Rams play 10 games a year on fast turf. For this reason, the focus of the team must be on speed, not power. When you play at Heinz Field, Giants Stadium, or Lambaugh Field, power football is your friend. The surfaces are sometimes muddy, the winds fierce, and the temperature below freezing. For the Rams, that is not their element. 10 games on moderate weather fast turf means speed is the premium. Speed over power. That is the theme.

Well, I guess the one positive for being the league doormat on the fringe of total upheaval

is that you get plenty of good suggestions from good people about how to fix the mess.

I like both proposals and haven’t quite made my own mind up yet about how to go about it. I support the Haslett promotion for the time being because they needed someone who knew what he was supposed to be doing for the remainder of the year. But next year is completely different.

Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me......with nothin'.

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

the rams can pull it together by 2010

the rams have to trade some sort of “asset” even though they look poor on all levels to get at least 2 more picks in the first 3 rounds. They need talent in all areas. They have 2 or 3 years of growing by what we see of them now, so just load up on the draft and let the rookies gain experience. No one in this division is going anywhere soon so the rams just have to pull it together to fix themselves. Getting rid of Zygmunt is a must and getting a players coach is also crucial. The rams need a new style coach that motivates players without the hardass style. This is not a power team and it is not a power division so why do we need a power coach.
