Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

During the offseason, I picked the Rams as one of my five surprise teams for possible turnaround, based on St. Louis having an easy schedule and an accurate, talented quarterback in Marc Bulger. However, I changed my rating on them once I watched the preseason: .... They are a mess. Something is really, really wrong here.

He's an idiot if he thought the Rams had an easy schedule

He did realize we had to play the NFC and AFC East divisions, right?

Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me......with nothin'.

Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

It's not so insane

Outside the Patriots, and before the Brett Favre trade, the AFC East was supposed to be really weak. And they have six games each season against the eminently winnable NFC West… that puts a total of nine so-called winnable games on the schedule, plus two more against fourth-place teams, so he isn’t completely out of line in saying that.

Of course, that was before the Rams became meat for the rest of the league. And he admits it didn’t take him many looks to reverse his position….

"Attaway to stomp 'em. Stomp the piss out of 'em. Stomp 'em when they're down. Kick 'em and stomp 'em. Attaway to go boys. Pound that old Budweiser into you and go get them tomorrow." -- Joe Schultz

Boy, Rams 2008 were sure a surprise...

I hoped to get 4 or 5 wins. Now, we’ll be lucky to get one!!! SURPRISE!
