Rank speculation
Ah, power rankings. Is there any issue they can't answer with a list and a pithy remark?
As you might have guessed, the Rams don't fare too well in the latest rankings from the gang over at ESPN. Twelve voting staffers there put the Rams dead last in the rankings just out today. No surprise there for a team that's handed out 79 points in two games while managing just to score just 16 of their own, which might be a small miracle considering they've made zero trips into the red zone and converted just 3 of 24 third downs.
What does surprise us is that two voters actually considered the Rams better than three teams. Teams considered worse than the Rams by those two voices crying in the wilderness are the Lions, Chiefs, and Dolphins.

I think the Chiefs are pretty bad...
At least we got beaten by two teams both of whom will probably be in the playoffs…K.C. got smoked by a horrible Raiders team that was getting ready to fire their head coach.

It wasn't quite getting "smoked"...
the Rams got “smoked.” KC just got outplayed in the ground game. McFadden and co. pounded out 300 of the Raiders 355 total yards. Holding a passing offense to 55 yards and not allowing a touchdown in a half (it was 6-0) shows slight promise.
That’s more than we can say about the Rams at this point. I believe the Rams have the potential (in theory) to win the NFC West or at least make a run for it. That said, at this point, they are the worst team in football and possibly the worst they have been in franchise history.

Unfortunately, have to agree with ESPN on this one.
The rankings are on performance, not just potential. We aren’t the worst team in the league, but we’re playing like it. Hopefully, we’ll get things straightened out ASAP, win a couple games, and settle into the mid to low 20’s range where we belong.
