Tuesday Morning Tidbits
A few items of interest on a Tuesday morning...
- The Rams invited veteran NFL fullback Dan Kreider to training camp. Kreider has been the Steelers FB for the last five seasons, playing in just 10 games last year thanks to an ACL tear. Kreider made his living as a blocker.
- Linehan makes his debut on the coaching hot seat, to nobody's surprise.
- The Rams, according to PFW, were a little put out that the Niners landed free agent OT Barry Sims. The believes it needs more depth at OT ahead of Goldberg and Gorin.
- Here's the list of remaining free agent OTs. It ain't pretty.
- Can the Rams make the playoffs? Here's part one of that scenario.
- Torry Holt is a man of many talents, and whether or not he heads off to Carolina to play after the 2009 season, he's got a post-NFL career option coaching youth baseball. (This story is cool, what Google's all about.)
- Only three first round picks have signed.

2 issues with the draft pick signings
1. If the number 1, 3 and 4 picks are signed, how in the hell can’t the number 2? Granted Ryan screwed up the whole thing with his contract (or should I say the Falcons), but does Chris think he’s gonna get more than Jake too?
2. What the hell is the benefit of holding out so damn long. Someone said it, and I read it on the “Stories from Around SBN” about how the NBA has this crap figured out. And you know what? They do. The NBA is such a better ran league than the NFL it’s ridiculous (and don’t confuse public popularity with successful running of a league). With the way the cap works all the way down to rookie contracts. The NFL players association actaully hurts its members with this setup since teams can’t afford to sign (or keep) established veterens due to the ridiculous signing bonuses and holdouts by guys that have never played in the NFL
