Interesting gambit by Faulk. Obviously, he’s got little in the way of resume, but he could have a couple of ulterior motives that would pay off in the long term.
First, he knows the Rams have to interview a minority candidate, thanks to the Rooney rule. So this is a way to give them a way to do this, but potentially offer him some other job in the organization (which he really wants, perhaps) and keep Haslett as HC instead.
Or, maybe Faulk really wants to become a HC a year or two down the road, and wants to get his name in people’s minds now. Maybe he gets a coordinator’s position at the pro level, or even that rarest of jewels for minority candidates, a college HC offer.
There’s potentially more under the surface here. But whatever his motive, it seems that he won’t be satisfied with the broadcast booth for long.
