Failure, thy name is the Rams

This is beyond explanation. Anyone want to take a stab at it? How does this happen? How does a team blow a 10 point lead in the last 8 minutes?

Ok, I know how this team does it. Still, it never ceases to amaze me that the Rams can execute well for three and half quarters before choking it up in the end. There's plenty of blame to go around, but I'd save some extra vitriol for the offense. Bulger, who also failed to build on the progress he showed in the first three quarters, was sacked twice in the fourth quarter. The play calling...a draw play on the last drive of the game? And let's not forget Atogwe's decision to go for the INT rather than just bat away the TD pass. That's why you're not a Pro Bowler, O.J.

There were positives, but let's savor the bitterness for now.

Dayyyum

I was at the game and that last 8 minutes or so was classic Rams football. It was a total team fucking effort to lose this game.

Hell, the bastards even cut back on the cheerleaders, loping the squads down to two from four for the second week in a row. Now that is what I call dirty pool. The cheerleaders are about the only reason to go down to watch this half-assed team anyway. Pricks.

Steriods is...is bad.

Hate to correct you, but...

failure = Detroit Lions … or the auto industry for that matter.

Comedy in the “I only laughs when it hurts” vein. Otherwise, this is about as funny as a Jerry Lewis telethon.

I think he said the following once

“The Rams have the ge-bly-gavin!” with his eyes crossed.

This team fails in the most intersting ways, though

Detroit gets blown out today by New Orleans. We dominate defensively all game and then give up two TDs on SF’s final two drives. Unbelievable

Brutal

This years Rams team is one of a kind. They never seem to amaze me. Somehow we squeaked out that win against the skins (almost blown by Incognito) and beat the Cowboys. Then we go and lost 9 in a row. Today’s game sums up this season. BRUTAL! I am looking forward to another #2 pick in the draft though. Chris Long has been awesome and I think he will be a star for years to come. I think we’ll land a nice Offensive Lineman to compliment Long on the other side of the ball.

these losses hurt more than the blowouts

I mean, it’s not like a win matters in the grand scheme. Losing is better for our draft position. But the players on the field don’t care about draft position, and the fans that braved the 0-degree wind chill to sit in the stands don’t want to think about silver linings.

The only thing a win gets us is a sliver of pride. The right to hold our heads up and say ‘Yes, we’re still a football team. Yes, we can still spoil someone else’s Sunday.’ Two Sundays in a row, we had that feeling, it was warming in our chests like a sweet shot of bourbon. And two Sundays in a row that feeling went ice cold sober as the pride of the Rams laid down and died. This week, they died fighting, but it’s little consolation.

Ah bourbon.

The great American metaphor. <a href=“http://www.bulleitbourbon.com/Gateway.html?Lang=en-us&BrandId=SO&RefUrl=http3a2f%2f”http://www.bulleitbourbon.com" target="_blank">www.bulleitbourbon.com2fTemplates2fStandardContentTemplate.aspx3fNRMODE3dPublished26NRNODEGUID3d257b989237EA-64EA-4DA2-B293-B98AADCB3F9D257d26NRORIGINALURL3d252f26NRCACHEHINT%3dGuest" target="new">Bulleit anyone?

Ugh.

Wacky link. It’s my favorite bourbon, so I have to try again. Try here.

I like this recipe the best:
