Can you send your practice squad to St. Louis for the game? They’d probably still beat our Rams, but at least it might be a competitive game. Notice I didn’t say a “good” game, but it’s be “competitive”.

Hard to tell

Very few balls make it out his way due to too much incompetence in either the offensive line or the quarterback. Can you tell we’re a little bit crabby around here?

Eh…I’d say he’s definitely shown flashes of play-maker ability. It just hasn’t shown up in the last 4 weeks for many reasons.

Don't play him

First, I have no idea who the starting qb is going to be. I’m assuming Green and that’s not real good from a fantasy standpoint. Plus, with the line not only being bad, but also banged up and on top of all that….underperforming, then I wouldn’t start any Rams players the rest of the season. Way too much risk.

And I’m not sure what you mean by “draft pick?” are you talking from a fantasy standpoint or from the Rams standpoint. If it’s fantasy, no. If it’s Rams, absolutely. The guy is a legit talent and only in his first year as a pro. He’s the type of guy to be a part of the new nucleus of this team. Major deep threat and athletic as hell with a great pair of hands.

Plus, I like answering these questions as opposed to reading and discussing Little Richie Incognito’s latest childish antic.

As for Avery. His troubles are a product of his environment. As you well know, a receiver is more dependent upon every player on the field more than anyone else on the offense. He needs a line that gives the quarterback time to throw. He needs a quarterback who makes good decisions and throws catchable passes. And he needs a running game to keep the defense honest. If you miss one of those three, you’re at a bit of a disadvantage. Missing two? We’ll good luck. Missing all three? You’ve got no shot at producing and that’s exactly where Avery is right now. Defenses aren’t ignoring him anymore because of the amazing plays he made about a month ago so he’s seeing more safety help and overall attention from the better corner backs.

I think it’s also relevant that Holt’s production has actually gone up the last couple of weeks. I think part of it is because of Avery. Teams would rather take away Avery’s big play possibility while giving up Holt’s shorter slants which are much less dangerous. Holt can’t run away from d-backs anymore. Avery can.

Also, right around the time the Rams were actually doing well, Holt cried a little to the media about not being involved in the offense. I wonder if there are more plays called that have Holt as the target or if the quarterbacks are just more conscience about looking his way as opposed to Avery? Could have something to do with it as well.

Dont stop believing lol.

I know EXACTLY how you guys feel. I just went through a 1-15 season where …just coming close was good enough. Whole team in dissarray…key injuries…overall I am trying to forget about last year.

Next year…after a decent off-season with a coach who knows what he’s doing…you guys should be fine. Maybe draft Tebow or Stafford since Bulger seems to always be injured.

Well..I’m not sure about the Steel Curtain. Judging on how our defense played last week..anybody could possibly throw for 250 yards and 2 TDS. We are just to inconsistent.

If we dont step this up…look for this game to be a hard fought shootout.

Did you happen to see what the Bears defense did to the Rams this past Sunday?

Whoever plays qb might throw for 250, but I’d be surprised if there were any TDs mixed in there. When you can’t run the ball, you have to throw it which means it’s kinda hard not to be over 200 yards.

Now, if Jackson plays (which I doubt) its a little different of a story. But, if the line doesn’t run block (and they haven’t) then he’ll be turned into a receiver which isn’t the worst thing.

Well Honestly I am not sure

After he was flagged his replacement, Charlie Anderson was making his way to replace Porter, but Joey just waived him off.

I am hoping its an anger thing and his feud with the pats, but this season he has behaved so we’ll see.

He hasn’t talked to the media yet, and Sparano has not really mentioned anything yet.
More news of this will definitely come later on in the week.

He did a 10 minute interview with ESPN on Sunday NFL Countdown yesterday and it was all about his “fued” with the Patriots. He said he hated them because they cheated him out of 2 trips to the SuperBowl. He also said he’s doing a lot more taking this season because the Dolphins are having success, which is why (he said) you didn’t hear much from him last year. He said its a good thing for the Dolphins if he’s trash talking because it means they’re winning games.

So, how have the Dolphins turned it around?

The Rams would love to benefit from the secret formula that the Dolphins had, turning a 1-15 embarassment — and one Cleo Lemon miracle pass away from going winless — into this surprise season. So how have you done it? Here’s the things I’ve noticed from afar, but I’m sure there are many more changes from last year to this that have paid off:

1. New GM and unquestioned top dog in the front office – Bill Parcells
2. New coach willing to learn from the master – Tony Sparano
3. Sign a low-cost “game-manager” quarterback – Chad Pennington
4. Draft a stud offensive lineman – Chris Long
5. Get lucky, as opposed to unlucky, with injuries to top talent – Ronnie Brown
6. Get rid of useless players – Trent Green
7. Don’t be afraid to try something new – the Wildcat

What would you add to this list? And would you change the order of importance of any of this?

dude...you are a rams fan...isnt chris long on your team? lol...is the season that depressing?

Well you hit many points

1. Definetly. Sparano, Ireland (gm), and Parcells are the unquestioned leaders. Also known as the “Trifecta” these three have made all the changes, and they went out and got the players they knew they could win with. Players that fit the mold and direction that we are going, rather then finding big name players and hoping they fit (Raiders for example)

2. Tony Sparano is a miracle worker. Anytime you take a 1-15 team and spark them into play off race, you know you have a keeper. He has learned a lot from Parcells and it shows. He’s shrewd, tough, and will never sugar coat anything. He is what you want out of a coach.

3. Chad Pennington is not a game manager. He is a playmaker. You can say stuff about how he has a weak arm and everything..but even though he isnt a gun slinger he is winning us games. Just because he makes smart decisions and doesnt turn the ball over, doesnt make him neccesarily a game manager. Yes he manages the game (lol this is getting repetitive and I cant stop it), but he does more. Atleast 4-5 games he has lead us on game winning drives. Make no mistake, he isnt just there to make sure we dont lose games, rather he is there to win us games.

4. I’m still LOL’ing about this. His name is Jake Long. You have Chris Long. And yes, Jake Long is an anchor. He was definetly the right pick number 1 overall.

5. Whew. Just Whew. We’ve had only 2 big injuries. First one, was our starting RG, (Donald Thomas) a brutal mauler went down week 1, Ndukwe filled in very nicely, so crisis averted. In the past game (against the scumbaggish dirty Patriots) our version of Wes Welker got knocked out for the rest of the season. He was up to that point our leading reciever and had sure hands. So know we’ll see how we get some production out of the person filling his role. Granted we have University of Hawaii standout, Davone Bess, probly fitting in his role, so I am not too concerned. But it does hurt losing a starting WR for the season.

6. Most definetly. We have churned this roster and we are continuing to churn it. NOBODY’s job was safe during the off-season so competion was high. People could not afford to miss practice, get injured, because the “Trifecta” let them know they WILL be replaced.

7. Innovative playcalling has definetly helped to spark this offense.

I cant really order these because they are all important and you pretty much got it perfectly. Good job Taiko…lol but chris long on the dolphins? sorry but its still funny

Whats up Rams Fans...

Tough year huh… like Finsx said earlier it can only get better next year.. I’ll chime in on your question Taiko, Im sure Finsx wont mind..

1. First off if it wasnt for BP bringing in the staff he has brought here no way would we be where we are at, no doubt in my mind. Im gonna group this together because it was an entire gutting, i.e VP, GM, HC, DC, OC, STC, SC, PT, OLC, DLC, ILBC, WRC as you can see these are the coaches and Im sure thats not even all of them that were replaced from last year. And also I think the number is something like 45 new players on the roster which if you think about it a brand new team.

2. CP10 as we like to call him over at the Phinsider. This guy has been absolutely amazing. I think that everyone had our doubts when he was brought in and “most” wanted to see the draft choice from the previous year get his shot “John Beck”, thankfully we dont coach football or make personel moves. But anyway back to CP10, no is arm isnt the strongest but the guy just knows how to play the game. He is what they “experts” like to call celibral and just makes all the right decisions, well not all but most of them. Words just describe how much he has meant to this team and the success they have had this year.

3. Injuries this year have been pretty much non existent. Coach has a philosophy that is you cant practice you go on the IR. So we dont have the guys babying around and not practicing. Last year what just sickening with all the injuries we had especially to or best player R. Brown.

4. Trying new stuff and being ahead of the curve has helped, but on the other hand we are not only winning with gimmick plays. Yes the wildcat has scored alot of points, but the main thing that I think it does is takes time away from teams preperation for the rest of our offense. So yes this has helped this team but not as much as people think it has.

5. Im gonna put these 2 together and that is getting rid of useless players and the draft. You actually got Chris Long the DL we got Jake Long the OL, Im sure thats just a mistype. I think the getting rid of useless players has been a blessing to this team . Dont get me wrong however ZT, JT were very loved by this team and its fans and those are not to whom Im referring. In useless players the Cleo Lemons, Trent Greens, Rex Hadnot, Chapman the RB (cant remember his 1st name). And moving forward, removing these players allowed us to make room for more quality players.
The draft well was awesome as of right now. We obviously got J.Long to anchor the line for the next 50 years, YES 50 years he will be our starting LT and dont tell me any different. But even besides long we got P.Merling DE, C.Henne QB or Future, K. Langford DE he is starting, D.Thomas RG was a stud til he got injured early in year, 2 RBs on practice squad. So the draft although it cant be told if it was good or not has all the making of an excellant draft.

That is how I believe the Phins have turned it around so quick!!!

How does the Dolphins' suspect secondary

match up with the Rams receivers/passing game? The secondary has a tendancy to make mediocre receivers look great, and great receivers have career days. Any thoughts?

I think its just we are WAY to inconsisent. There are the games like sunday and against the cardinals…then there are the days like the first time we played the pats or against denver.

i think we match up well because of our pressure. Correct me if I am wrong, but ram’s o-line is suspect at best. So start Joey Porter in fantasy land…cause we are going to crank up the pressure.

Miss is a strong word

I’m not sure we “miss” you so much as we’ve noticed that comments sections are a little shorter now. Even after the signature change.

just for the record…we actually feel bad for you guys over there. We are holding audiitons for new Dolphins fans tomorrow…where your gym clothes and bring a towel.

Things can turn around quick…you guys have about as much as we did last season…actually allot more lol. Getting the good coach is key….Haslett aint it.

Happy Thanksgiving…im sure you guys wil get a solid player in the draft to pair with SJack for many years to come….unless you trade the pick for Matt Cassell lol

Goes back to my concern

That Beck will one day develop into a great QB, and we will have fired him after 4 starts. Too young and too much potential to just discard. And, is it really that bad to have him as 3d QB? I would much rather have a great starter, and good #2, and a solid #3 QB than get rid of Beck just because he lost games for a 1-15 team.

exactly...he has all the tools..the right mindset...it was just unfair of us to throw him in there

just like that. Little to no preparation. NO run game. No blocking. One decent reciever…whose gonna do good in that situation?

seriously. Give him one more chance (one full regular season game. with an actual team) and if he doesnt do well then I will utter “John beck = future” no more.

I have a question for rams fans.......

what the eff happened to Torry Holt? is it that he just runs open and the qb is already unconsious by the time he looks back?

and what is left on Bulgers contract? whoever was in charge of signing him to that deal needs to be neutered.

Hey Rams fans

What is your take on Bulger? Is he done with this concussion? I know they are still projecting him to start, and if Jackson is back, that’s a huge boost for him, but what do you feel is his future? Is he just holding on to the job until you can get a new, yound QB in there, or does he have a few more years of top tier stats left in him?
