Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Cleanup Aisle Six: Kurt Warner Not Retiring

Late breaking news from the Why Bother Department:

The AP is reporting that Kurt Warner intends to play, or at least try to, next season.

I would think that in this year of the young QB no team would bring him on board as anything more than a backup or even a third string QB. However, I wouldn't bet the farm that some well-managed outfit like (Oakland?) might just find a way to deed him the starting job during camp.

Warner was a fine system QB during his tenure with the Rams, but those days are long, long gone. He had a great run, and it's probably time to look elsewhere for gainful employment.

Does anyone who reads the TST have connections at Schnucks?

Ouch.

Seriously though, how funny would it be for Warner to become a pitchman for Schnucks?

very funny if that would happen....
i believe warner could possibly just have a little going away party next year with the right team. unfortunetly i only see two teams that fit the bill, oakland and miami.

I would add Minnesota to that list
If last week was any indication, that rookie qb the vikes have is not very good.  Coupled with the fact that Brad Johnson is toast plus with their record they'll be way out of draft reach of any of the top qbs.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is Minnesota is gonna have to have somebody and why not Warner.  They play in a dome, right?

coach warner
kurt needs to just call it quits and go into coaching.  he could probably be brady quinn's position coach in detroit next year.  mike martz might even ride his bike down to arizona to pick him up.

warner
MIN does make a good destination for KW. I won't be at all surprised to see him playing still next season, remember Jeff George almost came back this year.

There's a supposedly
washed-up "system quarterback" in Philadelphia doing pretty well right now ...
