Open Thread - Rams vs Redskins, Week 16 - No TV edition

If you can't watch it on TV, maybe you can catch it on the radio. Nothing like a football game on the radio, thanks to the NFL Scrooges.

Pay a visit to our Redskin friends at Hogs Haven and the Curly R during the game...maybe they can give you an update about what's happening.

The Skins have a weak pass defense, which should work well for recently named Pro Bowlers Marc Bulger and Torry Holt...Bruce and Curtis could fare well too.

Go ahead, have some more Egg Nog, as a Rams fan this season, you've bloody well earned it!

Happy Holidays football fans!

Redskins hold Rams to nahthing on their first drive and then score on a surgical drive featuring a lot of Ladell Betts.

A bruising drive
Ladell Betts goes over 1000 yards, then back under with a hit behind the line, then over, then Chris Cooley catches a 9 yard TD pass from Jason Campbell.

Redskins 21, Rams 14, end of 1st half.

This game is all over the place
Redskins score to make it 28-14, then the Rams come back with a great catch and run by Steven Jackson, 28-21 Redskins, then the Redskins punt.

Hilarious
Redskins make no real effort to stop the Rams, but commit two silly penalties in the red zone and settle for a FG.

Rams 31, Redskins 28, 7 min left 4tf quarter

For those keeping score
That was Redskins kicker Shaun Suisham's longest career FG.

31-all, 3 min left 4th quarter.

NO GOOD
Wilkins misses a 41 yarder to win.  Tied 31-all, we get some free football.

Merry Christmas everybody!

whoooo
I figured the game may turn on a big play by a safety with the number 21, i just didn't think it would be made by The Juice (too soon for that nickname?).  Sean Taylor (aka that other number 21) is gonna see Steven Jackson in his nightmares for the next month.

FILE - In this Sept. 4, 2009 file photo, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill aims a pass downfield against the San Diego Chargers during the first quarter of an NFL preseason football game in San Diego. Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
